Power cuts in Kabul follow explosion

A loud explosion was heard in the Afghan capital Kabul in the early hours of Monday local time and power appeared to be cut in parts of the city, it has been reported.

The cause of the blast was unclear in its immediate aftermath, the Reuters news agency said. It came about a week after a suicide attack on a demonstration by members of Afghanistan’s Hazara community killed at least 80 people and wounded more than 230.
